Coming \'home\'.

Just got off the phone - spoke to Chris at SYH.

'Our' mooring's still available.
Catching the tide up from Ramsgate tomorrow afternoon.

Looking forward immensely to my first (of hopefully many) sundowner(s) in home waters.

Order will have been well and truly restored.
Regular sailing - again - at last /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi!

Hope you have a good passage back to the Orwell. We had sun, wind AND tide for our return last Monday. Went so well we arrived too early to get a push up the Orwell!

As we arrived back in Ipswich we got some verbal from the local yobs. This coming on top of paying double to berth in Ramsgate compared to Holland + the shock of UK booze prices made me turn to Judy and say " welcome back to the UK!"

Best wishes,

Ray

Excellent news Will, look forward to seeing you out there one day, any plans to venture further North ? or do you get a nose bleed with the altitude above Suffolk ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will have my anti Guapa Glare sunglasses ready next time I am in the Orwell.

Here's to a cheap rest of the season.... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: Coming \'home\'.

No current plans to venture much north - once north of Suffolk we tend to run out of water fast. Guapa draws 2.1m and I very much prefer her afloat (at all times).

Well, when I say current plans... I've been toying with the idea of sailing to the Shetlands (non-stop). Whilst the idea hasn't been rejected out of hand by the family, it didn't exactly receive a roaring endorsement either...
We may very well end up going to the Channel Islands/Normandy again this year.

Brilliant! Your blog was distressing me. If I had the means to do it, I would have come and helped you, it was that upsetting.

The recent events with Kudu allow to me have a great deal of empathy, but you know what, you're going to value your boat so much more because of it, and, it makes you just that little bit more respectful for not being one of the lucky one's who just bought a boat and went sailing.

A toast! To Guapa, a truly inspirational journey to boaty freedom.
