Coming alongside pontoons....

Whenever I moor down wind/down tide it's because I've guessed wrong which berth(s) will be free, put the fenders out the wrong side and can't be bothered to move them.

I routinely put fenders out both sides on the infrequent occasions I attempt to moor alongside a pontoon. On several occasions I have effected an apparently skillful and fuss-free single handed mooring in a pontoon berth which was not the one I initially aimed for.
