I think there is something wrong with some elements of this actual calculation although I like the principle of a comfort index. The bit I do not think is correct is the multiplier of the beam. Surely common sense tells you and practical experience supports that a boat with 6ft beam cannot have twice the comfort of a similar boat (although unlikely) with a 12ft beam. Form stability is what it says and this index would probably be more representative of real life using a multiplier of 0.5 or less for the beam. Interesting concept though.
