Combined Chartplotter with built in AIS Transponder

These seem to be the way forward for chart plotter technology. Some interesting stuff being made in China, e.g. Matsutec HP 628a.

Anyone have any direct hands on experience of one ?

I am thinking of importing one Make to use as a test if the price is right.

Worth checking whether you can live with such limited specs. Inputs are nmea0183, outputs are rs232, and the ais transmit is just 2 watts whereas a premium brand is 20 watts. Depends on the spec you need
