Comar CSD-300 AIS display - use as plotter?

Does anyone own one of these?

I'm looking for a dedicated AIS display as the Garmin 2010C isn't able to receive AIS data and I don't like relying on the laptop. It looks as though the Comar can also be used as a back-up chart plotter as it can take C-MAP cards, which would be a massive plus if true. I haven't been able to find much impartial info about it on the web other than from Comar and vendors, so if anyone has experience of it, opinions or recommendations for other AIS displays would be very welcome.

Don't know about the Comar, but in the category of "other recommendations" I would heartily recommend the Vesper Watchmate display.
