Colvin 26 depth transducer access problem

I have a colvic 26 and have a depth sounder problem and request advice.
I have a suspect fault with my depth sounder transducer and am unsure how to access it in the engine compartment. Has anyone experienced this problem please?

Unusual to have a depth transducer in the engine compartment - more usually forward of the keel on or near the centre line. Transducers are usually fitted by owners , particularly with a boat like yours that was likely home completed so probably not a common "problem"

Thank you for your reply. The boat was purchased from new by the previous owner. So I suspect nothing has been changed. I have located a speed transducer in the forepeak and have confirmed this is so by removing it, because, like you I believed it to be the depth sounder. I have chased the wiring and can see a coil of cable in the area near the engine so I can only think it’s the location of the depth transducer. Kind regards

Could it be that the depth transducer and speed log are on the same assembly?
