Colvic Craft are no longer making boats and the company records are inaccessible, so I am hoping to compile a register of Colvic Watson boats and owners. This was flagged up at YBW over the Christmas holiday period and will appear in both PBO and YM next issue.

The intention is to have a data base of owners for reference and for mutual assistance, news, exchange of ideas – and even of appropriate hardware. The database could be made available to registered CW owners, but not to third parties. It would also be good to have the ‘story’ of other CWs and their adventures and to use an Internet address as a clearing house for news of intended cruises in the hope of meeting other CWs. I already have a small amount of material from UK and from Denmark for this, but the more the better.

To this end, I have set up a (embryo) web site at http://www.colvicwatson.co.uk/ which is still building under a site manager wearing L plates.

If you are not a CW owner, but know one, please pass on the details above.

Thanks in advance. Colin Jones. Lyme Regis. Wednesday 13/02/02

Hi Colin

I tried to contact you a couple of years back as our family has had a Colvic Watson 35 since 1979. Sailed like a bungalow but we had many great family holidays and a memorable delivery back from Crotia, during the war, to Mallorca in 8 days. Sadly we sold "Spazeba" two years ago and I last saw her at Kemps Quay in Southampton. Many fond memories and many not so fond (there is an awful lot of antifoul to scrape off!).

Kind regards Steve Birch (Now of Albin Vega fame). www.albinvega.com

Hi Colin
I will be contacting you soon, the new website sounds like a great idea. Steve will be pleased to know that Spazeba is now in Dover where I am preparing her for another trip to the Med. We leave at the end of May for Holland then through the French waterways. We may have to change the name since Dover Port Control have some problems with Spazeba( or it may be my accent).
