My son is looking to buy a yacht to take his wife and two young children cruising. The boat will be used mainly locally with forays across to The Netherlands etc in school holidays.

At the moment he's leaning towards the motor-sailer end of the spectrum.

From what he's seen on the web, he likes the look of the Colvic Watson 34.6 (or 35) and thinks it could suit his requirements well.

He would really like to view one in the flesh - unfortunately, I don't know anyone who's got one, locally or further afield.

Is there anyone on the East Coast forum (or knows someone) who has got one of these yachts and is willing to let him take a look around?

He's based in Saxmundham (IP17) and is happy to travel to Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Kent. However, due to work commitments any arrangement would have to be on a weekend until the nights get lighter.

If you can help can you please send me a PM (or post here if you want).

Many thanks.
Nigel

I don't actually know anybody but when visiting Titchmarsh marina last summer, there were 2 on the hard.
One looked like a project boat and the other had someone living on board.

Send a PM to Caer Urfa of this forum. He looks after the CWs, and will know where to find a friendly owner.

I owned one for 6 years. Excellent, solid, and they sail better than you might expect.

Thanks for that.

I joined the CW group but the Yahoo site is awfully clunky. I think he's Mike something on there.

Interesting to hear that they sail better than expected. Was yours a 34.6/35?

THere was a big one in Larkmans yard at Woodbridge/Melton. by the 'office' from recollection. Not been there for a bit so don't know whether still there but it is not too far.
