Colvic Victor 41 1985

There are a few of these Colvics of varying size and all with pilot houses here in Scotland. Was there an optional molding as thy all look similar from about 35 ft up to 40+ There has been one in Charleston on the Forth since the 80's so maybe even Google Earth will give an idea.
I think it's fair to say that Colvic would modify anything if they'd get to sell another couple of sets of moulding - they didn't have to do any of the related development work.

Yes, if you Google for images you will find quite a few with pilot houses and yes, Colvic produced these as options. Somewhere in my loft I have Colvic literature from the early 80s showing all sorts of options. This one seems to have just the basic deck moulding with raised cockpit (as in post #11) and does not seem to have even built a companionway, but access below is through hatch. Presumably original builder had plans for extreme cruising.

Ladyinbed who posts here has a Countess 33 with a wheelhouse moulding. Very common addition to both Countess and Victors.

Hi all and thanks for the advice so far, however the price on this Victor has been reduced and after a lot of costing I gave BJ Marine an offer around the asking price. A week later I find the agent has gone on holiday and handed it over to a colleague to deal with who also was away till the end of the month. Finally get a message to be told that the owner has sold the boat privately and they are not able to help me further.
Now how does this work, the Agent advertises the boat only for the owner to sell it behind their backs I am confused, the agent would not give me the phone number of the seller or any details just bad luck I am told. Three weeks wait for a response to my offer. It seems to me that the second hand car salesman has now taken over the boat market.
Any advice on this situation is it normal?

Rare to have exclusive agreements on brokerage and owner free to accept offers from elsewhere - although one would hope that he informed the broker he had accepted an offer. Obviously can't comment on why the broker did not give you an earlier response to your offer.
