I am looking for a boat to sail around the solent area, We need a comfortable stable boat for an elderly couple. Has anyone any comments about the 28 foot colvic countess? I have seen a nicely fitted out example. Thanks
 
Bought mine just about a year ago, so yes, it's me to blame for the lousy summer last year.

We have the Countess 37 - a superb boat IMHO!

Heard good things about the whole range - Ian Anderson did a great design job, they all seem seaworthy, stable, and well built.

That said, I suspect like the bigger countesses they won't be 'sporty' in light airs, but the heavy airs performance is great. Also, as you have already sussed - the interior fit out can vary wildly - bad fit out is normally indicative of other problems (eg amature wiring / mechanics / plumbing).
