Hello the bilge in the saloon of my Colvic Sailer 26 has a channel which goes towards the engine compartment about four feet away.Have pushed a cable
about twelve feet into the channel expecting it to come out somewhere but no luck.Any ideas appreciated.ThanksBilge.jpg

Bilge drain ? Try looking at the holes in the back of the boat with the cable fully inserted...

Thanks guys no holes in the boat that can't be accounted for already. These boats were home finished so I suppose it's possible that
no hole was ever put in the boat to allow bilge water to drain that way? Will go back at the weekend with one of those gadgets that
detects pipes and cables in walls.

my engine bed has an integral sump to stop any oil leakage getting into the bilge, the engine bed / sump, has a drain under it to transfer any water abaft the engine ,into the bilge sump

Some Colvics have 'limber holes' through the cross bearers in the saloon bilges so water does not collect and finds it way aft to the engine bay, this sounds like a limber drain, if you can push wire down it
it should come out in the engine bay unless its blocked (probably in the engine bay with rubbish), or someone had fill it in, either way it should be clear.
