colour issue with antifoul

having purchased our boat last summer from a fastidious owner who changed everything to a dark blue I was surprised that he applied a light blue antifoul, we had her lifted for a drive service and re antifoul prior to Christmas. I purchased international cruiser uno antifoul in navy blue, mixed properly and applied two good coats, sat in my car and admired my handy work, now why was it not done like that in the first place a lovely dark blue to match the rest of the boat. 3 weeks in the water and back to exactly the colour she was when we purchased her, LIGHT Blue!!!!! anyone else had this with cruiser uno or any other antifoul.

Quite common for antifoul to change colour when in the water. I use reds and some change to a dirty brown and others to almost pink. The mullet that swim around my boat in the marina are always complaining they don't like the colour!

Buy a more expensive version, there's less colour change.

No. I hate the colour change as well, but the mullet lie on their side in the sunshine biting my boat so they must have some feelings about it.

That does seem very strange. I changed to Uno several years ago on the recommendation of a friend as the cheaper antifouling I was using did the same. The Uno lasted all season and stayed navy blue.

Could your change of colour be caused by something in the water? Are you in a marina with shore power? My mooring was in a tidal river (fresh to brackish)

we are based in Chichester but the colour change has occurred just as bad,if not worse on the hull section that is out of the water

LOL, but, Yes. I went from blue to Black (The other trimmings were black...) and it's cool.

A bit Grey, but cool...

I had the same issue with Cruiser Uno last year, first year I had used it, prior to then used interspeed Ultra in Navy, which was really nice and dark and stayed like it the whole season... but Cruiser Uno navy when first applied is round about same colour, but it does go lighter over time.. but I have used it again this year... sod the mullet

Leave the mullet they are trying to clean youe boat for you.

Yes. Had the same problem in fresh water river. We'll freshish...
Lovely dark blue to match hood and dodgers, which then went pretty pale within weeks. Only looks good when on the move and wet...

my prayers have been answered I will apply to Beaucette marina to borrow there dolphin once they have finished with it!!!
