Colour Choice For Tender

Where did you unearth such absolute moronic twaddle? Is it meant to be funny? It's as superficially-grounded as foul old racist stereotyping. I'm not pointing that at Long Keeler, but however do the authors of such transparent nonsense expect to be received?

Good Lord! You'll be telling us next that Astrology is unreliable.

Boat refurbishment

Hi Phil. How many boats is this now that you have owned and done up? You obviously enjoy the cleaning up process so I am sure what you do with the colour will be fine. But what next? good luck olewill

If it's anything like the plasticine of my youth it will come out cacky brown. :(

Maybe not. Unless there is one of them that is predominant in abundance, the colours that you mention should give you a medium blue with a green undertone. A very serene colour. Why don't you try a little mix, roughly in proportion to the quantities of each paint that you already have? Seriously.

i don t think it matters what colour the top sides are but below the water line should always be red----this helps idle bystanders/water watchers to realise that seeing red means the boat is the wrong way up and you need encouragement and possibly help to get ashore----regards lenten

I always think dinghies look good when they've got the waterline painted. Makes them look less 'dumpy'.

My tenders tend to be dark blue to suit the mothership, but I always paint the bottoms yellow in the hope it will attract attention if I turn the thing over.

Seems to work, as the chum who bought my old tender managed to invert it in quite a wide open bit of the harbour and was rather poorly placed, but a passing dinghy rescue boat saw him & came over.

I've just got some gelcoat damage near the keel to do, but I've started stripping the (slip-in) floor boards with an eye to re-varnishing them.
I think I may be getting too involved here :D

Innit always the way though, we all start off with, "I'll just do......." Before you know it, you have done a complete re-fit! Sneaky buggers these boats, and the little uns is the worst!:D
