Color or yachts and boats

My daughter asked me a question which I have no answer.

"Why most yachts and boats are white? Why those yachts and boats don't like
cars on the road have so many different colors?"

Does anyone have an answer or a hint?

Color is an expensive option, also the color is harder to look after. And even if you have a colored Hull the superstructure is usually still white

White looks better for longer than other colours, doesn't fade as obviously in the sun.

You do see more differently coloured boats these day,but the majority are still white

Butt reality the rumour black ones are bigger but dont tell your daughter till she is 21

Could it be that as it reflects the sun thus retains less heat and therefore less damage caused?

Colour shows irregularities more than white
The changing colour in a mould has it's own issues
White doesn't show chalkiness as easily as colour does
