I had my mid 70's Colnbrook roller reefing detached at the bottom to do a litle work on my bowsprit that flys the foresail. At the bottom is a hefty double swivel and the adjustment threaded sleeve is also a reassuringly substantial thread of about 1" diameter. However the thread going into the top of the adjustment sleeve is much smaller perhaps 1/2" or 12mm but with a very deep coarse thread that could even be Whitworth. It looks a weak part of the system - has anyone had or known of this failing?
