i understand that "Undina" was somewhat involved![]()
Undina was mixed up in a couple of incidents, but not the dismasting, that was a broach. Also another yacht hard aground at Erwarton Ness after an uncontrolled broach. I left my spinnaker in the car!

I dont think G RJ owns Undina anymore
Whilst sitting outside the shipwreak on Saturday afternoon with a pint watching them all come down the stour and gybing into the orwell, I thought I saw Undina dropping her sails just before the gybe mark and motor off, also saw a yacht with a mast on deck motoring down the river, if it was a dismasting, they seemed to have cleared it all away very well, if not it was a funny old day to be out with no mast up?
On reflection I suppose we did do quite well to get it all back on board and underway without outside help.
The dismasting was a Stella, unfortunately being driven by me at the time!
An especially vicious squall caused a broach with the kite up, then suddenly a cracking noise then everything goes quiet and the boat is upright again. On reflection I suppose we did do quite well to get it all back on board and underway without outside help. I'd rather not have had that experience though
