Over the Chrstmas holidays we went for a drive one morning and looked down on Ringhaddy Sound (probably the best mooring in the east of Ireland) especially noting a blue wooden cabin amongst trees on Islandmore opposite. In front of it, a lovely red trawler yacht was moored.

At lunch that day I received a present : a book called the "The Blue Cabin" written by the son of a former Prime Minister to whom the cabin belonged.

At dinner that evening our hosts also had a copy of the book on the table and then their sister and brother-in-law arrived. They are the owners of the red boat!

Happy New Year.

Spooky....
It can be quite amazing when you get a sequence like that...

I got a copy of the same book for Christmas too - though I don't think that counts as another coincidence? An odd book in some ways, evocative of a very special place.

Strangford Lough is so beautiful, even in windy, rainy midwinter...tugs on the hearts strings, doesn't it?

This afternoon I visited my old boatyard in Newhaven where I used to keep a Westerly many years ago. On my old berth is a Snapdragon which is the class I own now. On its fenders was painted 'Emsworth' which is where I am based now. There is an expression something like 'someone walking on my grave'!. Just a wee bit spooky. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
