I started off with cockpit seats in plain GRP but soon got fed up with a wet bum every time there's a bit of moisture about. I had some teak strips machined, 10mm thick, 50mm wide and the top edges rounded. These are laid 20mm apart which is comfortable to sit on but leaves room for water to drain away. Epoxy worked pretty well for sticking them down but a few have started to come adrift and I'm using sikaflex to replace them - so far so good.
Ok then, 20 quid an hour, i'll get someone to help you out of bed!
If your serious, email me, I'm snowed under with work, not so much Teak though, TD mainly, some GRP repairs, including my own! We also do commissioning for the Motorcats, so loads of work to do!!! Please help! tradesales@mcproducts.net
Getting me out of bed is also a problem /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
My workshop is at the end of the garden so i dont do the rat race rush hour .
Ill speak to a few people tomorrow and maybe get you some contacts but i know one of them is of to Corfu to work on a boat and wont be back for 3 weeks , but hell want more than 20 per hour im sure .
ah right, we were told by somebody at libs that tekdek (might not have been tek dek, but similar) panels couldn't be put together by us. Obviously duff info.
Flexiteek i'm afraid, another one of my ex products, you need to heatweld that.
TD just glues together using a PVC bonding adhesive, quite easy really. I have plenty of happy customers who buy it in 'kit' form and DI themselves, anything else /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif?
