Just read the Cobra Manual and Confused. Cobra provide a red/black pair lead with jack to fit into the radio.
Connection Instructions:
"Bond NEMA /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifout negative wire to black wire of GPS interface cable. Bond NENA out positive wire to red wire of GPS interface cable." My Garmin lead is Brown Data Out, White Data In. No Positive or Negative. What does this all mean? Cobra Red to Garmin Brown and Cobra Black to Garmin White or vice-versa?

I have this afternoon wired this for my Cobra and Garmin 128 - not sure of your exact model i.e. colours used, but.... bond the NMEA out + (blue for 128) to the Cobra + (red), then bond the ground - (black) to the Cobra - (black).

If this is to link the GPS to the VHF for GPS position you do not need the NMEA in.

So for yours, bond GPS brown to Cobra red, and GPS ground (black?) to the Cobra black.

Hope this clarifies things.

P.S. there should be a wiring diagram in the Garmin handbook that will make things clearer for the future.

Don't forget to set the GPS to output data as NMEA 0183, my 128 has loads of different outputs and was originally set on Garmin to Garmin.
