I have to put up my mast next weekend. Is there any specific data available for the Cobra 750 regarding wire tensions and mast rake angle.
I'm not sure of the make of mast or height. Any Cobra owners out there with data or any tips on rigging the mast .
 
The crane driver kindly broke the step of the mast on my Cobra 750 taking it down. I found out things like the mast maker is no longer in business, don't think you will find any tec. spec. but I was told by the previous owner that the mast goes straight up no bends. I personally have a good amount of tension on the back stay to keep the forestay from miss shaping when pointing. Good luck. Bill A.
 
I may be wrong but I think that many Cobra masts were made by Isomat. Although the original maker has gone, masts, booms and spares are available from Rigrite in the USA.

This probably won't help Magwitch with setting up his mast. It might be worth employing a rigger for the first time and then he will know how to do it (roughly) in the future. It's possible the Cobra 750 has an upright mast but I think it is more common on yachts to have a couple of degrees rake to the aft.
 
Is any one else interested in resurrecting the Cobra owners club?
I sail an 850 and would love to get to know others with the same boat (so I can race ya and beat ya!).

If the owner of magwytch is still in touch with mick parsons, perhaps they could obtain the data from the old site or if any one knows Andrew Cherowbrier from poole. That probably means that you would end up looking after a website instead of going sailing. cobras are for relaxing on arn't they or do folks race them /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
