I enjoyed Passage to Juneau and so did madame initially, though uncharacteristically she did not finish it - possibly when there was more on the detailed sailing side.

I don't think she got as far as that - I had thought she found the writing style not to her taste, but when I checked before posting she didn't remember that but mentioned the possibility of the sailing bits. I do recall that the description of the art of the native peoples of the coast made me look with greater interest at examples of it in the British Museum and the Pitt Rivers.
