Coast2Coast are moving a vessel for me, should have collected on Tuesday however on attempting to contact them by phone office answerphone is full and not answering mobile phones or emails. Anyone have an alternate contact route or know if anything has happened?

I want to play on my boat!
Roy.

Hi Roy

Here is a copy of a post on another forum, there may be deeper problems.

"Hi All,

After five long months of waiting, planning and preparation, we eagerly await the collection of "********" by Coast To Coast Transport, to be brought to *** on the 21st March.

Booked over two months ago we were impressedby the positive recomendations of this company by many.
So, flights booked, car hire booked and a few nights B&B booked in *******.

Woohoo,

Until today.
After nearly two weeks of phone calls and e-mails to tie in cranes and travel details we recieve by TEXT message a reply to be told to look elsewhere for our needs.

Totaly unprofesional i think.
All that glitters is most definately not gold".

Hope this helps, may not be good news but the sooner you know the real story, usually the easier to deal with.

Graham

Hope you didn't send a deposit, doesn't sound good to me.

Just got message from C2C snowed under with work, boats and lorries stuck in Belgium busiest month of the year etc etc. Seems I was a little hasty pressing the panic button, significant amounts of stress detected, problems with a boat for Gary Rhodes (may or may not be the chef) Thanks for your help guys.

Still here!

I can assure you all that Coast 2 Coast are still in business and are incredibly busy!

We had replied to the OP via email yesterday afternoon and have also spoken to them today so I'm a little confused as to the post.

I also recall the incident raised above in March and would like to clarify that the text message i sent (as couldn't get hold of owner) is still on my phone and was in no way unprofessional or as blunt as is being made out. If you all recall that particular couple of weeks both the UK and France were suffering with bad snow, in fact Northern France was at a complete standstill and as we don't run normal artics, the police stop all abnormal loads from moving full stop. This was explained to the owner and we simply advised that due to the delays we were facing, if they could get another haulier that was already in the UK and not trying to get up through France then they should please go ahead with them so that they stood more of a chance of getting the boat there for when their flights landed.

In this day and age of the internet it seems incredibly easy for a company to get a poor name just from a few comments. Coast 2 Coast will ALWAYS be upfront and honest if we are experiencing difficulties so as to give customers time to make alternative arrangements. We do not take deposits until we are 100% sure of being able to collect and should we have taken a deposit and something happened to prevent collection then we will always refund. The OP has not paid a deposit for this move just for your information, and we are working on the delays we have in Belgium to get up to Holland and make collection.

Coast 2 Coast is still golden hence the reason every major dealer and manufacturer use our services and recommend our services to others.:D

People must remember that moving 62' boats around Europe on a regular weekly basis is not an exact science and completely different to placing an order for a washing machine to be delivered in a 2 hour window on an exact day! That being said, we are pretty darn good at what we do and wouldn't still be here if we weren't.

small marine businesses can't afford full time admin and contact at busy times is always a problem. You could have someone on the phone, but prices will go up.

They moved my boat very efficiently, at a very good price indeed. Very pleased with them.

We had an excellent service from Andersons of Cornwall! Highly recommended, they moved our boat from Essex to Torreveija.

how big and how much? Evenstar was £4200 Spain to UK for 42fter with Coast to Coast, which was significantly better value that the other quotes I had.

was that because it was a return journey for them and meant they returned with a full load. I imagine most movements are going to the med and the truck comes back empty

I gave some flexibility in dates so he could do a return load, but at the time he had I think 4 full lorries going all over the place. In the end he said just give me a date, I did, he turned up - loaded 1/2 day early actually.
Ferries then went on strike so it took ages to get to the UK mucking he schedules after me up.

Anderson's moved my boat from Sovereign Harbour to Sant Carles last week. Can well recommend them particularly as they used the ferry from UK to Northern Spain rather than the French A roads which others use.

Very professional organisation

+1 for andersons boat transport they moved my boat twice and did exactly what they said they would on the day and time they said they would

Have used C2C on many occasions and always had a very professional and reliable service. Weather factors recently have held up many different hauliers and unfortunately we are unable to control mother nature.

I shall continue to use and recommend for myself and clients.
