Has anyone by any chace got a copy of last Sunday's BBC2 program "Coast" on Video that I could borrow. I had watched the previous episode last Friday and had not realised that the following program (about our area of the coast) was on Sunday and not the normal 7 days later... I would be really greatful if there is a copy out there somewhere.

Sorry No .... But it was the first one i saw and thought it was rather interesting. they were interviewing the chap on radio 2 this afternoon. He was saying he will be out on a tall ship in next weeks episode in scotland.

This proggrame is shown twice per week,a new one each time, both on Friday and Sunday at 2100.

Seems a great series, looking forward to the Scotish bits......quite fancy the bird with bright red hair!!!!!!!

Paul.

There was nothing at all in the West Country episode about the beautiful coastline between Plymouth and Newlyn! What an omission.

yes yes, a fabulous series, introducing the "coast" of britain to those people who had not realised its existnece. Naturally, it being part of ther uk, it isthe duty of the BBC to launch massive televised series with numerous (these days) happy-clappy blue-peter style presenters (apart from the historian who is irish grim type) and back it up with loads of website content and even BBC-approved coastal walks cos of course nobody will have orgainsed that until the beeb turns up will they?

Re: I\'ve given this prog a chance BUT!

It's the most ridiculous programme I've watched in ages.

It's like a Fastshow sketch. Noboby appears to be able to talk unless they walk. It's a mish-mash of well known facts and things that aren't well known because they're dull. One minute it's taking a light troll around the beauty of the coast and the next thing it's bogged down with some fisherman or the Menai bridges. Whole swathes of coast are ignored while we look at a bloke on a yacht trying hard to be fooled by a bloke waving a lantern. What tosh.

The whole thing would be laughed off of CBBC.

Re: I\'ve given this prog a chance BUT!

Let's see how they handle the quicksands of Morecombe Bay. Was the piece filmed before the Cockler tradgedy and was the rest of the programme assembled after? If it follows the rest of the series perhaps it will gloss over the facts.
I reckon the series was a good idea before the "Tristrams" (copyright AA Gill) decided it would need to be cutting edge, trendy and shot to bits in small bite-sized chunks.
I do however like the concept of different presenters doing each section as I can ignore the ones I don't like. Contrast and compare with the series by Dan Cruickshank who quickly got up my nose and left me no means of escape.

Re: I\'ve given this prog a chance BUT!

I don't quite understand your post. I'm sure I've seen an episode including Morecambe Bay (some weeks ago), and the presenter (Nicholas Crane) is the same every episode I've seen - they don't have different ones.
