Coalescer Filter recommendation?

My engine conked out on me yesterday and the problem turned out to be water in the fuel, probably from condensation in the tank. Can anybody recommend a small filter coalescer, or some other means of removing water, suitable for a petrol engine?

Nope. It's a 2-stroke petrol engine. There was a bit of water in the carb bowl and when the engine sucked it up it stopped. On checking the filter bowl on the tank I found a bit of water in the bottom of that as well. So I need something that will remove water from petrol.

So it is....read the post properly. It's just that I know of two boats recently that have had serious problem with water in their diesel in the Gareloch area....

they used to fit small water traps on cars of old,may be a classic car site,or see if your local generater hire centre can help,they often have a workshop,and they may be able to help you,not sure ifa diesel one would be ok but i know small ones of those are available,maybe try your local lucas uk again they specialise in all things petrol and diesel
look up on net under lucas service uk and it will list your nearest branch, they are usually most helpfull

Perhaps it would be best painted to control corrosion.

Thanks all for the advice. Looks like I'm going to fit a clear bowl, similar to the above, after the filter. It's got a wee tap on the bottom so I can drain any water off.
