Rather than mount my new tv aerial permanently on mast, I would like to be able to hoist it up on the rare occasion I actually watch tv on boat. I’m looking for a co-ax thru deck connector but the ones I found on t’web are for RG-58 or RG-213 cable with N type connector. The cable supplied with my Glomex antenna is RG-6 with what I believe is an F type connector.

Ideally I would like to ‘plumb in’ all the antenna cable etc to TV below deck and just be able to plug antenna into deck fitting and hoist it up when necessary- any tips gratefully received as ever.

There are adaptors available. F type to N type and the other way round. :)

Remove the F type, it is an atrocious connector that should not be allowed anywhere near a boat.

Nype is the way to go, you can get 75 ohm ones, but a standard 50 ohm one will be just fine.

Use a dust cover when it is no in use:

and use an N type bulkhead fitting to get it through the deck:

You can get RG6 into a N type as they are normally compression fittings anyway. You just need to be careful if the centre core is solid not stranded,

depending of the outer diameter you may need to add some heat shrink to make it tight and then seal it well.
