Just received my renewal notice from Clyde Sea Recovery. Just wondering if anyone on the Clyde has had any occasion to call them out, and if so, was it a good service? The premium for 12 months less 1 year's no claims discount is £332.50. I suppose this is a case of expensive if you don't use it, or priceless if you do.

Curiously, I haven't noticed any call-outs mentioned on the forum! Any experience you'd like to share?

I'm not comparing it with the RNLI whose invaluable service I see as for an entirely different set of circumstances.

There are plenty of boats sailing on the Clyde and I am sure someone would give you a tow if the situation should arise (I have towed three boats in over the years - one raggie and two stink pots)

I guess from your post on sail drives that you actually sail on occasion rather than putter about in a stink pot so you have a back up if your donk does not play ball - put your sails up
