Heard on the radio this afternoon from Clyde Coastguard there would be no safety broadcast due to a "multiple casualty incident" anyone know what this refers to?

CLYDE COASTGUARD ASSIST IN LONG RANGE MEDICAL EVACUATION

At just after 5.00 p.m. this evening Clyde Coastguard received an emergency call via Spanish Coastguard from a UK flagged fishing vessel `Jositan’ reporting a crew member with severe abdominal pains. After discussions with the medical authorities ashore who advised immediate evacuation, the Coastguard then had discussions with ARCC Kinloss about launching a rescue helicopter from RAF Valley in North Wales.

The range for the helicopter to fly is approximately 200 nautical miles from their lift point to Blacksod in Eire and after an hour and a half fuel stop, a further flight of three hours to the edge of the area is then required. Given the distances the Coastguard advised the vessel to haul their nets and begin making progress at best speed towards landfall to reduce the time the aircraft needed to stay in the air.

The medical evacuation from the vessel should therefore take place at about 11.30 p.m. tonight. A Nimrod aircraft will also be above the helicopter at the same time providing both communications and emergency cover if required. The Coastguard will be closely monitoring the progress of the helicopter and the fishing vessel throughout this evening.

Watch Manager Stuart Atkinson said:

“Besides this very long range incident, we have other smaller but potentially life threatening activities today ranging from jet skis and their riders being stranded on an island in Loch Lomond to a capsized dinghy with three youngsters thrown into the water at Helensburgh.

“A yacht with one person on board was reported sinking near Islay, and a Sunsail vessel lost engine power and drifted onto rocks directly east of Rothesay on some outcrops of rocks. Fortunately in these incidents no injuries or deaths were sustained and everyone made it safely ashore. All required either lifeboat or helicopter attendance and we’d like to thank our colleagues in those services for responding so promptly to our call.”

when people get "thrown into the water" from a capsized dinghy. How dramatic!
We just kind of slide in when we capsize or do we do it differently?

Do you not mean another "WELL USED" Sunsail yacht. For sale one owner since new!!!!!!!!!! some people could be tempted by that one!!

Was that on the rocks north east of the old albert pier? I wonder?

Engine failed and wound up on the rocks on the east shore of rothesay bay more like. But there is good holding in the bay so why not drop a hook or two and fix the donkey?
