For race 4 of a 10 race series, we got 25 boats out for a 6 hour race yesterday despite grey clouds, a 17kn easterly and wind over tide lumpiness. That was 8 out of the 12 IRC boats entered and 17 out of the 21 NHC boats. One NHC boat did a 10 mile run to get to the start and faced a 10 mile against tide and wind run back to base at the end - in a J24.

The IRC entry list at 12 is the same as last year but the NHC is down by 5, one of which is me because of boat repairs. Attendance on the other hand is up.

Dinghy fleet a bit limp right now.
It might get a bit more focussed when the Autumn series starts.

Lot better than the autumn series on east patch upper clyde , has been dropped completely along with spring series due to total lack of interest , both were very popular in time , helensburgh sailing club on dinghy front is valiantly trying to revive their autumn dinghy series
