My Plastimo contest bulkhead compass glass is very cloudy/scratched as it still works very well replacement is the last option does anyone now if the glass can be cleaned or the scratches polished out?

Are you sure it is glass? I polished out some scratches on a friend's compass with Autosol metal polish, but his was some sort of plastic.

Try PLEDGE furniture polish applied with paper towel and lots of elbow grease. It works on spray hood windows too.

Just use household Brasso and a bit of elbow grease and it will be like new again.

Try the same way I put a shine on carburetter dash pots , my sons RAF cadet belt buckle and boots .

Mine's exactly the same. There's no cover for it so I'm guessing it's down to UV degradation over the years and needs replacing...

I used Crest toothpaste with a paper towel. Works like a charm, and you can use it on your teeth later. Amazing! Who'da thunk it? My compass is about 20 years old and now looks new. BTW, I also used it on plastic ports and it cleaned them up too. HGappy sailing, Cliff Moore, SV PELORUS
