Closing Chichester Marina

Just had a letter from Premier, saying Chi marina lock will close between 4th Jan - 18th Jan for repairs.

Bet we have lovely calm, sunny days all the way through that period with the boat stuck on its pontoon.

This always used to happen to us at Swansea Marina when we had Pegaus.
Luckily yours is in January, Swansea usually shut down two weeks in March, to service both the Marina Lock and the Tawe River/sea lock.
Seems to be par for the course and no you wont get anything back unfortunately.

We had 3 week lock maintenance in Portishead

No real problem seeing as the weather was dreadfull.

My son will be not be too worried as his boat came out of the water at Chichester yesterday until the end of March when he returns from his next detachment abroad.

I'm meeting him there next Monday to check it out and tuck it up for the winter.

I floated the idea of moving the boat but - assuming I manage to use it between Christmas and New Year - I think I can probably cope.
