Close shave for Steve Jobs' Superyacht

Yup.
Those bargemen know how to handle their boats. No bowthruster, mind you.
When I was 17 I had to opportunity to go along on a barge from Ghent to Paris. Along the Canal du Nord we passed a number of such locks. I had to remove the car tyres that were used as fenders, as the boat would not fit into the lock with a tyre either side. We never even touched the lock wall before we stopped and the skipper did not think anything of it. By the way, the skipper's wife did it just as expertly.

Spent many happy hours sat at the Yacht Cub by the bridge watching the superb seamanship of the superyacht skippers.

That bridge doesn't look very wide from the cockpit of a small yacht either......

The jostling for position to go through is almost like a race start! One of my favourite Windies Islands. :encouragement:

His yacht breaks one of my fundamental rules of yacht aesthetics.

To my eye, it always looks wrong to have a coachroof on coachroof, on a coachroof.

It looks like the upper layers are an afterthought.

She'd look infinitely better with just the first 'floor'.

Sorry for thread drift.

Well.....ok.....yes.. though I'm not exactly sure what an RPG is (but it sounds nasty).

I notice that the article refers to "ariel" footage.

Is that Ariel as in:

Ariel Motor Company, who first made penny farthing bicycles, then motor cycles, but now specialise in motor cars for the suicidal

A moon of Uranus

A little mermaid

A washing powder

or simply mean you cannot get the staff these days.

which ever the Zeebrugge ferries are not as ugly as that superyacht.

More likely to be the original Roman(?) winged messenger of their gods. That's how he would be able to take aerial pictures, isn't it?
