Clip name

There are different types of circlip - the one in the OP's pic is an "E type" circlip. Might help if you're Googling for a supplier.

I had a (quite unnecessary) one INSIDE the motor of my eberspacher rust, fall off, and jam the motor. Quite a long-winded repair for such a silly little thing (had to change the bearings as well since damaged during the disassembly) :(

As far as I know 'Circlips' have holes at the ends so that the clip may be squeezed or expanded by using the proper pliers. The E-type in the OP's picture is merely pushed onto the groove with a hard object and does not need any 'special' tools.

...sometimes simply called an "E-clip".
Circlips in general are sometimes called "C-clips", particularly in the US, I think.

Thanks guys, with the info you supplied I found them. They are indeed "E clips" (not circlips)...
