Has anyone had any idea why the blown air isn`t getting cold , the guage in the photo is in the red zone , would that mean it needs regassing similar to car units ? . Any info gratefully received .

From the pic I can't see it is in the red.

Gassing is possible but not that likely as all lines should be copper not flexible hoses like a car.

A few ideas.

1 is the cooling wart flowing ?

2 if it has reverse cycle could it be stuck?

I assume that the unit worked until recently ?? Can you hear the compressor kicking in ? Usually some time say 30 secs after start as London as the control is calling for cold.

Look and see if air intake grill is blocked with fluf, they tend to block up easily being close to floor and can restrict air flow.

! What gas ?

2 What pressure ?

Looks like the high side gauge, but even by zooming I can't read the pressure. If you can tell me the gas I can tell you if it is too high. It looks to be high by the needle position.

This would likely be lack of cooling water through the dual tube condenser (the black tube stack wrapping around the unit).

3 What supplies the cooling water to the coil ?

Andy, it's probably because the carpy cold temps in UK murky waters is colder than your system can work below..... Just come to the Med and it will work fine.... :)

Looking at that gauge I think it shows temp as it look like its attached to the seawater coil, it doesn't look anywhere near refrigerant pipework.

Is /was the sea water pump turned on on the main A/C panel ? For self contained units .

Or if it,s a central compresor supplying fancoils then there will an additional pump to turn on to circulate the " cold" solution .

Any significant probs normally self diagnose on the control panels by way of error codes .like low gas etc .

"duff broker syndrome " that's my long range diagnosis :)
