Hi all

can anyone suggest a supplier of a proper Cleghorn element or a suitable replacement. The one I replaced the original burnt out out one with came from a DIY shed ,bought mainly for its length rather than its wattage hence it's a standard domestic 3KW This is obviously too large for a boat size heater even though it physically fits.
Iv trawled the Internet for a suitable replacement to no avail. I guess I'm looking for a 1 to 1 1/2 kw element .

Sorry for miss spelling in the title. Strange how you can't edit titles !

Cheers

Jabsco Shop, pricey though

Cleghorn Waring immersion heater element

ASAP supplies as mentioned on an earlier thread.

You can edit the title as it appears in your post by going to Advanced edit, but you cannot AFAIK alter what appears in the Index

Lancing Marine will sort you out. 3kw is asking a lot from the marina shorepower. Without speculating as to the failure, I would suggest 1 or 1.25kw and get the depth right

I think my original from Cleghorn Waring was 1.25KW. However, if you either have, or are likely to have a 1KW generator aboard, it might be worth thinking about the 0.75KW element so you can run the immersion heater from the generator if you need to.

I did this and whilst we don't need to do it often, once in a while it's very handy.

12 volt ?

I want to heat my water too ,in the calorfier but want to use a solar panel which would require a 12 volt element , are they available?
I realise its not going to reach high temps but should be able to give some increase in temperature
