Anyone got advice on the best stuff for getting a couple of years of sticky gunk and exhaust soot off an inflatable dinghy? I'm not looking for expensive proprietary solutions, but tips on using stuff I might already have under the kitchen sink...

Cheers!

I think it might depend on the dinghy material. I've got PVC and have tried all sorts.... to varying degrees of success. The best was a Heavy Duty dinghy cleaner... it removed the dirt well enough, but this only partially removed the stickyness. I've kind of accepted that it's something I'll have to live with.
Besides...don't want the thing to look TOO good. Someone might take a fancy to it!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just read your post ....

You've just reminded of the name of the cleaner that I couldn't fore life of me remember ..... GUNK !!

Designed to clean everything of engines ....

Anyway back to your problem .... I haven't found anything yet to do it after having 2 inflatables over years ... you can get the grime and dirt off with strong household cleaners like Jiff etc ... but the stickyness seems to be part and parcel of having a flubber !!
