My sprayhood is now several years old and is beginning to show it's age, particularly the clear view panel. there are scratches and scuffs. it is also fairly dirty - despite being sent for cleaning. I think they thought that only the canvas was to be cleaned?
Does anyone know the best product to refresh the clear view panel?

The sailmaker local put a new window in ours - crystal clear and scuff free. We tried some of the proprietary stuff that's supposed to defog sprayhood windows, and although it made a visible difference we decided to get the window replaced. It was quite cheap too at £60 which I though was good value.

I have to admit I have actually tried neither, but two products variously mentioned on here are Brasso and toothpaste. I would try it out on a small out of the way area first tho!

I used a product from the 'Renovo' range, which is sold for polishing the scratches out of plastic windows in soft-top car hoods. Work fairly well on my spray cover.

If you do go to the replacement option do not attempt to remove the plastic windows, leave as they are to keep the shape for the replacement plastic, makes the job easier for the sailmaker. As above ,not an expensive job, but get a quote first.

Sadly, the scuffs will not remove - at least not in a way that you would call a restoration.
Brasso is great stuff but for removing surface marks and small stains. Toothpaste has some minor bleaching capabilities.

Before you give up, get a bottle of window cleaner from the supermarket - it comes in one of those trigger bottles; it will do no damage to the surface and will remoave all superficial light stains but not scuffs.

But you are probabaly heading for a replacement window - just done mine: cripes, wonder now how I made out anything through the previous haze!!
