Rafiki's props had a lot of chalky/Limey deposits, despite the TK antifoul I used last year. I used the Wessex prop cleaner, but the deposits hardly dropped off. I used half a dozen applications, and had a good scratch around with a screwdriver and wire brush. Unfortunately I didn't have my drill to hand. Eventually got a half decent result, but it wasn't easy. Applied some new TK antifoul, but I am not confident that it makes any difference. Anyone else used the Wessex cleaner?

I've always used brick cleaner I think I got the last lot from Jewsons. The trick is to paint it on a leave until it stops fizzying and then apply a second application then attack with wirebrush etc

+1 on brick cleaner. And wear protective glasses as you paint it on in case any of it flicks back in your face. I use a stainless steel scourer for the final cleanup as it doesn't seem to put any tiny scratches on the prop that the beasties might use to cling on to.
