Just bought a new (replacement) boat with an almost new tender.
Unfortunately the previous owner in his wisdom wrote the boat name in three places in very large letters with a permanent marker - it has ruined the dinghy
I have tried hair spray, acetone, Jif, wet & dry (gently) all to no effect whatsoever.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove it. Could the Hypalon be painted?
Thanks in hope!

Yes sorry I should have clarified - the writing has been scribbled on in large lettering on both the bow, stern and bottom of the dinghy in what looks like a 3 years old writing! It looks dreadful
I want to remove it and do a proper sign written job
Thanks Richard I will try the brake clean

Give oven cleaner a try. It works on GRP, but give a mall area a try first as not sure how it may react with Hypalon.

Thanks for all of your responses but nothing has worked but I now have a solution
I am going to get the dinghy material patches and stick them over the offending writing I can then have a proper sign-written job done on the patches
Thanks again!

The strongest type cleaner I have found for permanent marker removal is a spray can of carb cleaner.

We used the same method on white NOBO boards when somebody used a permanent marker on them. Litterally write over the letters with a dry marker and they will wipe off. The alcohol is in the dry marker.
