All my desks are painted with Blakes cream paint, with non slip granules mixed in.

It looked really smart for the first few weeks but over time it starts to trap dirt and looks grubby.

On Saturday, I spent three hours scrubbing the decks. She now looks much better, but not perfect.

Anyone get any easy cleaning tips because I don't want to scrub so hard that I take the non-slip off but I do like smart paintwork!

I used Starbrite deck cleaner this weekend and was amazed at the amount of dirty water hosed off the deck after scrubbing with a soft brush. Painted decks always look a bit more dirty when wet. After drying, the result is a lot more pleasing. Use a softer deck brush to avoid scouring away at the paint.

I spent a pleasant half hour this afternoon pressure washing the non-slip deck paint (Interdeck) on my wee Hunter back to pristine condition.

If you know it is going to rain after you leave the boat, sprinkle a light coating of dhoby dust over the deck and leave. Boat will be spotless for your next visit.

Also used it and would recommend.

For really stubborn stuff try starbrite hull cleaner. Really designed for waterline scum but shifts most stuff. Also burns your skin when it runs down the gloves and into your sleeves.

That's oxalic acid in a really expensive bottle.

Mix a saturated solution of oxalic acid, add 25ml to 5litre of 500:1 teepol solution, brush it on with a soft brush, leave for 20' and hose off with lots of water.
