Well my boat is all nice and shiny after plenty of polishing and buffing but now I have these dirty fenders messing up the image!

Does anyone have any tips on how to clean fenders and restore them to their former glory? I could attack them with an array of household cleaning substances but given the rubbery nature of them I'm not sure how well they would work?

Any suggestions please?

After failing to make much of an impression with washing up liquid etc, I tried G3 cutting/polishing compound which I was using on the hull at the time. Applied it using the coarse side one of those scrubby sponges suitable for cleaning non-stick pans, used wet ( with the white scrubby bit, not the ones with the green scrubby bit as they're too coarse). After a bit of rubbing the surface gets polished (water won't pool on the surface any more ) and this seems to get the dirt out too.

It worked for me but it may be best to try it on an old fender first just to make sure a scrubber isn't too fierce for the surface...

Magic sponges....... then a quick polish. Thats what I use on mine and there still like new, 7 years on!!

Paul.

Magic sponge and some TFR (Traffic film remover) which is what Ribshine is. Should come up a treat. Best combination out there IMHO.
Buy tfr in gallon cans from a motor factor and use to clean your car/s in the winter.

I use ribshine with an erase away pad, but use eye protection.

Ribshine from port solent isnt TFR as it has another chemical in, its the one that gets in your eyes!!!!

I used inflatable boat cleaner. It cleaned them a treat.
