Re: Cleaning Canopy - Any every-day products - GET ALGON -

USE ALGON

Buy it from garden centres.
Spray it on & Leave it
Come back next week no green canvas

Spray it on ropes, spray hood dodgers any thing.

Every thing else is waste of time, Anything made "specially for boats" is a Waste of Money & Time.

USE ALGON USE ALGON USE ALGON

Never suffer the Green Slime again

At last, another Algon fan, been using it for years, excellent product.

Tried it, but poor results on my canopy unfortunately. I am back to a scrubbing brush and detergent. Hard work, but effective.

I haven't used Patio Magic or Algon but have used a similar product called Westfield Decking Hero - essentially the same stuff.
It must be applied on a dry surface on a dry day so it has a chance to dry off. Any you must do nothing for a couple of weeks as it is not instant acting.
I does kill of the green stuff and but it doesn't entirely clean off all of the residue from the dead green algae . Works on decks as well as canopies.
Perhaps best to regard it as means of killing off green algae and a means of protecting against algae growth rather than a cleaner.
I used it on my conservatory roof at home with great success.
My boat canopy is due for a clean and re-treatment. But despite becoming dirty no green has developed on the roof section of canvas and only a very little green has developed on one side since I treated it a year ago.
