Just bought a practically unused Avon inflatable, trouble is it has spent a number of years laid up in a loft, the result being that the whole boat is looking pretty grubby. What is the best method of cleaning/freshening up the fabric without damaging it? Cheers, Mike.

I bought some cleaning liquid from Inflatable Boat Supplies and my Zodiac came up like new and used correctly you get plenty of years out of 1 bottle.

I used Flash granuels. It has to be granuels though.

This was suggested to me by the chap who sells Avon repair kits at the boat jumbles.

Hard work. But the yellow band come up sharp yellow again.

Best of luck

Be careful, mine has only lasted 30 years, the top has only received washing up liquid and the bottom, Aqua Forte (Hydrochloric acid 40%) and wire wool to remove barnicles. Will stay inflated for about 2-3 months and then I have to put some more air in. (but sadly I think I am out of guarantee.)

After all this time some sod stole my stainless steel o/b bracket in Croatia this summer!
I hope he sinks with it.
