Whilst visiting the LBS on Friday I received injuries from which I may never recover. I was accosted by an attractive young woman who enticed me onto her stand with promises of Cheap Insurance and Coffee. The coffee was grand and the prospect of cheap insurance appealed to some of my native Celtic instincts. Having dallied with her for a good while, she also gave me a diary in exchange for my address, telephone number and other personal details - I thought it was all going swimmingly then I asked who she worked for... SAGA.
Fer goad's sake - SAGA...is there nae justice - there's Jimi looking like Robin Williams Elder Brother, Para looking like Adrian Mole on steroids, TCM looking like nothing on earth, CC49 looking like he just fell off the Hovis advert and I draw the bird frae SAGA

i didn't realise that the dusky maiden you were embracing that night was the selfsame Saga lady. would you like to be reminded of this as there is a pictorial record of the occasion? if you or a friend had some web space then all could see how worthwhile it is to engage such ladies in conversation ...

I succumbed to a quote from SAGA a couple of years back - it wasn’t particularly cheap, so I gave them a well known quote.

What was it with insurance stands?

Whilst searching for insurance for the new boat (surprisingly difficult to find), I stopped by a couple of delightful French mesdemoiselles. Is started explaining about SWMBO's illness over the past year, to see if they could provide or procure travel insurance. Like every one else they held up their hands, imploring me to stop, and said there wasnt a barge pole long enough for them to offer her any travel cover whatsoever.

One of then said - 'owever, I 'ave a solution to your problem.' With bated breath and eager anticipation I waited.... '... you leave your wife at 'ome, and you take me on holiday!' I found this a most helpful suggestion - unfortunately the divorce would mean that I had no money to go on holiday.

Apologise to your postie

Aah, they have your address. You can now look forward to an unending stream of mailings offering you everything from cruises of the Norwegian fjords aboard the SS Wrjnkly, to incontinence pads. Nothing will stop them (I think they reruited their direct mail marketing manager from Which? magazine. Or maybe Readers Disgust.)

Well, thats all well and good for you to suggest but it'd be me that got the good hiding - have you seen the size of him - he looked about 8ft 4 in that YM picture
