Re: For sale

It was possible in an elan, but in a marcos, with the sunroof closed and the windows/doors closed, impossible!! I was much much smaller then aswell!

Re: Classic has nothing to do with age or who designed

Question ! Why were those bloody allegros nearly aways that sickly (in the true sense) yellow????? and that stupid square steering wheel UGH!!

Cheers all and a 'appy xmas to you all (even allegro owners --sad as you are)

Terry

Terry
sounds to me you have a problem.
think you suffer from some form of Allegro fetish!
merry christmas

I certainly like yachts of that era. But within a couple of years designers were pushing the envelope of the IOR too hard and producing very extreme craft.

Cant stand them mike!-- probably the worst car BLMC ever produced hidious shape and a complete rust bucket in its day IMHO of course.!

Any way who told you I had a fetish ? that was confidential between me and my councellor I don't have a fetish any more !! Anyway must go have some feet to lick and cream to smear all over her --------- .

Cheers all

TERRY ( some day all boats will be made of wood )

Re: Classic has nothing to do with age or who designed

My first car was a 1953 Austin Somerset. Gear change on the column, Umberella handbrake under the dash, semaphore indicators, no seat belts. Cost me £120, which was a heck of a lot of money for an apprentice Electrician.

Every 3000 miles, change the oil and the cylinder head gasket! Taught me a lot about cars, though

Happy christmas all

Jim

Re: Classic has nothing to do with age or who designed

Jim,
My last car was a V12 E type, drophead, wionderful car after I finally got it sorted. But no room for a car onboard, so I have a 125 yamaha ha ha now on deck! Great fun and does't leak oil, unlike my old BSA!!

I,m no motor head!
so it will have to be a guess, some kind of merc or after reading your
posts and noting what a calm character you, could it be something very
British! bentley, Rolls perhaps? what ever it is, no doubt it will
have style,

Square edged, Column change not as nice as the Renown and about as popular as a Westerly Nomad!!!

Keep them coming!

Cheers all Terry-----------------One day all boats will be made of wood!!

Ford pop, sit up and beg! about all they could do though.
like my dog, only my dog is better looking!
