...and a necktie and a waistcoat, which is not actually a bad idea on a windy day. It doesn't seem from the film that they had a great lot of wind for the 1908 Horning regatta, however.

Most years we get a reasonable amount of wind at the Horning regatta , occasionally it's a bit light, even rarer is racing cancelled due to high winds and or a storm.
We often get a light wind period 12:00-14:00 as the normal southwesterly, which comes straight up the river, fights the sea breeze from the coast From the north east, it makes lunch time races interesting as the wind may do a 180 on you.
More than once I've tacked up river into a south westerly, and tacked back into a north easterly during the last 44 years of my racing there..
