select your choice, but not more then 2
Happy 2009

Sice you started with performance boats...

Not really my favourite boat at the moment, but a dream boat she surely was, at that time!
...not to mention capable to blow away even Magnum and the likes...

I'll just stick with mine.

I suppose I could manage with a Huntsman 31, a bigger Levi, maybe one of those aluminium Rusky hydrofoils. Or a big old thing like Somerset

Ben,

Most modern boaters would find glued to the water performance of a Fairey an adrenalin rush. As you know there is a certain Fairey Spearfish now with 960 Hp out playing in the Solent in the next few weeks..... Attempting to beat up old classics may damage ego's.

For me perhaps age dictates Somerset with a pair of Gardners is right up my street.

hmm nice choice but what about realistic dreamin something that later you can afford

I could have put a nice Itama Seventy Five but the chances for reality to afford that boat is slim to nothing, but an Itama 45 actually I could in a few years, but the real problem for me is keeping a 14/15 metre, which is important
I dont want a boat to keep in the harbour but a something to run with and go to Sicily and Sardegna...

Hmm, well see how it goes. The hp vs top speed curve is getting very steep where Jonathan is with Miss Daisey! Good luck to him! The deep V hull does very well up to 30 knots.

I have thought about this some more. So here is a few thoughts.

Nicholson built a handful of baby Gelyce. To die for.

A Volga hydrofoil, a few scattered around the place, would be the perfect boat to combat the steep Solent chop!

As I previsouly posted, I have a long love affiar with Somerset, ever since I crashed a mirror dinghy into her in the 70's. Oddly, I have never been on board and know very little about her, she was once a yacht called Zavida, see pic, then later, a radar training vessel (when under attack from out of control kids in a mirror!)

I'm a bit of a fan of some of the American lakes boat, in particular, the Chris Craft Cobra

I'm sure other will come to mind after i hit the post button.

Nice selection Ben, for me, perhaps I'd be thinking along the following lines;-

For a solent runabout, I have always hankered after Alto Volante

Or maybe Fujiyama

Although for a extended med cruising I'd be thinking along the lines of either a Silver [with decent stabilisers] or maybe Woodpecker - you really need to take a look at the teak, although I'm in agreement with Lateboater, a couple of Gardners may be necessary ...

But then again I could easily have my head turned - anyone for any more?

Ooh, yes I do like Berties, saw this pretty little 25 in St Tropez in the autumn
