Wonderful film, a pirogue being constructed out of a tree using an axe (sharp enough to shave hair off your forearm), a jack(?) plane, an adze or two, a drawknife, a spokeshave or two.

Well worth a look.

Hi all i worked for McGruers in Scotland for many years we had to learn how to use a adds x 3 off and yes they are very sharp they do say that this was the only tool that the devil would not yous. the draw-knife was used for tacking of the pins on a tradishonal mad mast and many other things .the video was good it reminded me off my apprenticeship (the good times)

it was something that the old boat-builders said and it just stuck . we used the adss to shape stems and sub blocs for the Clyde submarine bass
