Clarks sailing shoes

The Clark's/Musto ones are not very good.

Sole is slippy
Laces seem to be designed to maximise friction, so not easy to tie up, so shoe becomes loose in use.
The last deforms over time and shoe loses its shape and becomes sloppy,

Back to Dunlop Green Flash :)

I have a pair of Clark’s ‘Trigenic’ shoes and they’re great. Light, fit like a glove and don’t seem to be affected by salt water. Not the leather ones I hasten to add, I doubt they would resist sea water

I got mine for £20 on t'internet.
their predecessors ( fancy branded, not clarks!) cost 3x that and ended up dangerously hard and ungrippy

A recent forum thread seemed to rate them well against yachty specialist brands.

Thats why I bought my pair, for £25. They seem good so far but not had them long enough to pass a judgement
The branded yachty ones I did have went hard and slippery.
I generally wear my Clarks regular shoes on board as they grip well anyway.

"Adequate", but hardly fashionable.

Reminds me of Humphry Lyttleton and Lionel Blair on TV once. Humph had been voted the worst dressed man in London, Lionel the best dressed, by Tailor and Cutter magazine.

The interviewer asked why this was and Lionel went on about keeping abreast or trends, using the best tailors, choosing and co-ordinating clothing and presenting himself in the best way possible.

Humph's reply was short and sweet:-

" Some people get up in the morning and dress. I put clothes on! "

My favourite quote of his (even further OT) was to a barely literate interviewer who said he understood that Humph was an orthinologist (sic): "No, I'm more of a word-botcher"...
