The 280 Familia was re-introduced last year as a limited production run. Same principle as the old 27, with a seperate aft cabin accessed through the cockpit.
Ah So!
So that means we are talking a fresh boat here.
Betcha its a combination of a dirty bottom and loading.
160 horses 28 ft ish boat would be unhappy if I wasn't getting 16 kts cruising Phillip.
Can't be mutch wrong. Tiss worth a haul out.

Manufactures figures are nearly never attainable.

A universal truth which can sadly also be extended to all top speeds claimed by brochures on new boats, brokers of used boats, owners selling their own boats, owners bragging about their boats, people who have been for a ride in a boat, people in yachts who have been overtaken by a proper boat, people talking about the boat they are buying/will buy/have bought and even people on boat forums.
Your reading it wrong, there talking about top speed. Between this and that. All boats vary from day to day on top speed, as has been said.
Slowest speed hardly needs expaining, it's obviously stopped. OK could have slowest speed in gear I suppose, but does not serve any perpose.
Rules are. As said above. You will never attain manufactures figuers.
Smaller engined options might be miles out.
Last year mine was doing twelve knots instead of 25, though 27 knots is quoted in blurb. I'm happy if I see 20 or G wizz 22 on the screen.
See, you need a bit more power than you really need. To over come all the fobles mentioned above.
You will find, that as you add anti fouling from year to year, the boat will go quicker at first, but because your adding lumbs and bumps all the time, the boat will over all be getting slower. Many folks put this down to engine ware. But it's not mostly.
You need the bottom as smooth as a babys bum, props shiney, waxed even to get the best performance.
So. My 27 knot boat does in reality mostly 18 knots, your 20 knot boat does about 12. Sounds Fair enough to me. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
The top speed of the boat depends on the engine option; the 'from' speed is with the slowest engine option, the 'to' speed is with the quickest engine option.
Is this not useful? What would you like to see in the Buyers' Guide?
And please -- no sarcastic comments about "correct information" etc. We try our level best to keep the information up to date, but we are beholden to the manufacturers and (worse still) the importers for accurate info, because obviously we don't have all these figures for ourselves.
