I correct myself, I went down yesterday on the pontoons and had a look:

There are five "Swan" Pontoons in St Peter Port Pool, plus the waiting pontoon to enter the Victoria Marina on the next tide.

Four of the five swan pontoons are connected as walk ashore to the Crown Pier and have water on them but no electricity a walk ashore capacity for about 48 boats about 42ft each assuming each boat has one rafted to it ie two deep. Plus the other swan pontoon that at present is not connected to shore with a capacity of another 12 or so boats.

Photographs at last

Please find above the long awaited photos of the walk ashore St Peter Port Pontoons.

The top two show the whole set up with the one remaining pontoon that is not attached to the far left of the photo and the last photo shows the unattached Victoria Marina entry pontoon.

The four attached pontoons have a capacity of about 12 42 footers per pontoon so total about 48 boats plus another 12 on the unattached pontoon and the Victoria Marina

The four attached pontoons have fresh water taps on them but as yet no electricity ( possibly next year?)

This does mean that pretty well irrespective of the tide you can come and go from the Swan pontoons when you want which is ideal for day trips to Guernsey bays , herm or Sark and coming back each evening.

The photos were taken yesterday and its taken me a day to remember how to post the bloody things, this evening there were 41 boats on the walk ashore Swans , but bear in mind that if you need say 1.8m to enter the Victoria Marina you wont be able to get in till 21.13 and the gate closes at about 02.30 Saturday morning then open from 0955 to 1435 etc see http://www2.digimap.gg/tides/draughts.aspx

Well I am in Beaucette and it is stunning here. The restaurant alone is worth the visit. In fact, I would visit the island just for the food here.

The entrance is interesting and a must for anyone needing a story or two, but what a quaint and friendly place.

Hi johng39. I've been in the UK for the weekend and am now back on Play d'eau, the Fleming 55 at the bottom of the main walkway. Where are you?

Thanks. Just trying to decide whether to go to Beaucette as a starter to the hols, or as a last stop on the way back as menu and trip advisor looks good - as well as Piers recommendation of course !

Weather watching starts now....
